Tourism is one of the most promising industries in the world. In many countries, tourism is an effective source of income, and one of the main economic activities. Tourism has become a very dynamic and at the same time risky sector of the country and the world economy. The essence of tourism is that it requires a lot of economic and personal relations between entities, based on objective and subjective reasons, which may be damaged. Risk situation may arise due to various factors as a whole, at any time and anywhere. Scientists pay big attention to risk analysis. Number of risk analysis is carried out for the theoretical, methodological and practical studies, but tourism researchers, do not pay attention to tourism market. Altogether it can be said that currently there is a lacks for comprehensive scientific research to tourism for economic analysis of risk issues.
In the twentieth century, tourism began to influence a whole range of countries economies. The tourism industry today is very effective and very profitable sector of the global economy. Tourism industry includes sectors that will lead to world economic growth this century. Tourism is included in the top five industries in the world goods and services exports rating system. This extraordinary growth of the tourism industry is accompanied by high risk, i.e. under the general regulations of the economy and other spheres a growth is always accompanied by risks of economic growth.
In many studies, the term “risk” is associated with the potential of loss in a wide range of activities (loss of material and financial resources, loss of income and unexpected additional costs, etc.). In other words, the basic premise examining the risk of any economic system is its identification with a quantitative or price risk. In this context, the tourism venture includes the contents of all tourism-risk threats to the tourism market subjects and objects. The aim of the article is to reveal the economic substance of the tourism risk.
Object of paper - the tourism risk. Tourism risk may be disclosed by the economic analysis methods, by investigating the economic information. In the study of tourism risk was identified in two stages: data collection and selection of the tourism venture. By the help of expert’s method tourism risk was also identified. Forensic evaluations showed that the main problems of internal tourism are a long-term, and anticipated by preconditions. The results showed that the risk of tourism must be evaluated from two standpoints: from the user side and corporate side of tourism. The created tourism risk analysis methodology from the consumer side of tourism services, has allowed calculating the risk of tourism. Total risk is composed of a series of indicators that are combined into a single model. The survey figures showed that the maximum risk is in cognitive market segments. European risk in mostly formed by natural and socio-political factors, while in Lithuania by the organizational-economical risk.
