Abstract

This article analyzes one of the most important characteristics of women in SMEs is the fact that women entrepreneurs in particular, take the active approach and positive initiatives by adapting and using learning, investing and adaptating, as they are faced with new challenges and opportunities, the perception of the role of innovation. The article examines women's entrepreneurship, SME access and change the Lithuanian economy and the global economy. Discussed in the labor market employment policy of gender equality aspect. Summarized in 2007 Eurostat survey of small and medium business success factors in Lithuania and the European Union countries, the results taking into account the sex of the entrepreneur, which was attended by 15 EU countries. Based on the results of this survey were determined the success factors based on the gender of entrepreneurs of SMEs in EU and Lithuania. An exploratory questionnaire was used in the research. The evaluation and ranging scales were used, seeking from respondents – the students of different study forms in Kaunas University of technology (KTU) in 2009 year – to get more information and correct evaluation about youth entrepreneurship and the entrepreneur's natural features.
