Abstract

Efficient functioning of the competitive mechanism needs great efforts and consistent actions. The goal of the study is to consider the role of competition in the establishment of monopoly associations and improvement of the competitive environment on the example of Georgia.

The principal method of the research is a systematic approach. The major accent is made on such methods, as: analysis, synthesis, comparison and economic and statistical analysis.

The results of the paper describe the introduction and protection of the principles of free competition in Georgia, substantiation of the necessity for the Antimonopoly Department and planning the ways to improve the competitive environment. Sound competition gives access to the resources at the expense of the reduced prices and stimulation of the methods of management in the field of introducing novelties. The said processes support the economic growth and help to improve the wellbeing of the society.

The results of the study should contribute to the formation of an effective antimonopoly regulation system. The advantages and disadvantages of the competitive environment and some directions of antimonopoly regulation on the example of Georgia can be interesting and worth for some other Post-Soviet countries of sharing. The number of similar studies is not high and therefore, the present paper is original.
